Werdegang

Prof. Dr. Undine Frömming ist Professorin an der Media University, of Applied Sciences in Berlin im Fachbereich Humanities. Sie hat 2005 am Institut für Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie der Freien Universität Berlin promoviert (Dr. phil.) und war von 2009 bis 2021 an der Freien Universität Berlin als Professorin tätig (u.a. in der Leitung der Arbeitsstelle Visual Anthropology und Umweltanthropologie). Sie ist an der Media University Berlin Leiterin des Fachbereichs Humanities mit den beiden Studiengängen  M.A. Artificial Intelligence and Societies und M.A. Visual and Media Anthropology. Prof. Dr.  Frömming ist als Umweltanthropologin auf Klima- und Katastrophenforschung spezialisiert. Sie hat mehrere visuell-anthropologische Feldforschungen im Osten Indonesiens, in Ostafrika (Tansania) und auf Island durchgeführt. Sie hat ferner zahlreiche Artikel und Bücher über den Klimawandel und Naturkatastrophen sowie über digitale Anthropologie, künstliche Natur und virtuelle Umgebungen veröffentlicht. 

Sie war zudem eine Hauptantragstellerin des drittmittelfinanzierten Projekts LION. Digital Learning Environvironments for Social and Cultural Sciences at the National University Kyiv Mohala Academy (NaUKMA) sowie des ebenso durch den BMBF geförderten Forschungsprojekts ANIKAlpine Naturgefahren im Klimawandel sowie der EU-Forschungsprojekte 1) WRITER. Writing, Reading, Inclusion. The European Richness, der Europäischen Union und des durch die Europäischen Kommission EureopeAid, section ALFA III geförderten Projekts: SPRING. Social Responsibility through Prosociality based Internevions to Generate equal opportunities.
