At the official enrolment ceremony Prof. Dr. Ronald Freytag introduced the Media University to all 30 students of the masters program „Visual and Media Anthropology“. Together with Prof. Dr. Urte Undine Frömming who developed the program at FU Berlin he handed out to every student a matriculation certificate.
The University Board is especially pleased that so many international students are part of the new program. Interculturality and intercultural learning are two aspects that fit to Media University’s self-conception perfectly. The VMA-students come from countries like Japan, China, India, Georgia, Italy, Brazil, the US and many more countries all over the world.
For the first time in university's history Media University offers a distance-learning program. The Masters program "Visual and Media Anthropology" appeals to bachelor graduates with work experience. Mainly it focusses on researching modern media phenomena especially concerning cultural, ethnical and anthropological aspects. The program aims to prepare students for leading job positions in the field of digital media, in the film industry and in cultural institutions including museums and galleries.
After the introduction and enrolment ceremony the new students of „Visual and Media Anthropology“ took a small guided tour through the TV-studio of Media University. There they could familiarize themselves with the technology that they will use at various film and media projects during their studies regularly. Last but not least Media University had organized a little get-together-event: the perfect occasion getting to know fellow students and the university staff.
We are really looking forward to accompany all new master students on their path, wish them a good start and much success for the future.
