Welcome to the website of the Media University Humanities Department!

The M.A. Visual and Media Anthropology Master's programme was transferred from Freie Universität Berlin to the Media University in the 2019/20 winter semester. It is assigned to the Department of Humanities.

For the first time in the university's history, the Media University is offering a continuing education Master's programme with an e-learning focus. The M.A. Visual and Media Anthropology programme concentrates mainly on research into new digital media forms and examines these primarily from a cultural and ethnic perspective. It also picks up on current trends in research or technology, such as the development of artificial intelligence. The Master's programme is taught in English, consists of a mixture of e-learning and classroom-based courses and also includes practical media exercises and seminars in the areas of film, audio and print media.

The M.A. Visual and Media Anthropology programme is primarily aimed at Bachelor's graduates with initial professional experience who would like to work in TV, print and online media after completing their studies. The programme also opens up many other diverse career prospects in the cultural, media and education sectors. For example, the Master's programme qualifies graduates for management positions in museums, the film industry and cultural and research institutions with a media and intercultural focus.
