Cognitive Computer Systems (CCS) in sports are not only useful for scouting and when signing players. Sports clubs use CCS to prevent injuries to its players. Sophisticated data analysis tools connected to wearables enable coaches to create individual training plans. The presentation answers the questions (1) what added value the use of CCS can have for professional sports clubs, (2) what requirements must be met for the added value of these systems to act as a holistic decision-making aid and (3) to what extent companies in the media industry use CCS to create a data-based business model.
About the speaker:
Prof. Dr. Sören Bär has been professor of marketing and event management at HMKW Berlin in the Department of Management and Business Studies since winter semester 2017. He earned his doctorate on the topic of "Cooperative Marketing for Tourist Regions" at the University of Leipzig. He is a guest lecturer at several universities, does research at the University of Leipzig and is the deputy chairman of the supervisory board of 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig.
