My name is Niharika Kondhalkar and I come from Pune, a metropolitan city in India. Before starting my master study at HMKW Berlin, I completed my Bachelor's degree in German language and Psychology at the renowned Fergusson College in Pune.

My decision to pursue graduate studies in Germany was underscored by my desire to be part of the graduate program at HMKW, a University of Applied Sciences. As such, it concentrates more on the practical use of theoretical knowledge and maintains close contacts with industry, which offers us extensive opportunities for internships.

The interdisciplinary nature of the M.A. in Business Psychology convinced me that this is the ideal choice for me and perfectly matches my fields of interest such as HR Management, Decision Making and Behavioural Finances, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Psychology of Media and Marketing.

It’s been just over four weeks since I’m here and I must say, it has been an exhilarating time so far at the university. The learning experience here is very unique – small study groups and a highly interactive teaching style with plenty of discussions between students. Moreover, HMKW professors have a lot of practical experience, as they have worked in their respective fields for many years, who now share their practical know-how and on-field experience with us in class. Every lecture or seminar I’ve attended till now was an eye-opening and intellectually stimulating one.

Also, Berlin played an important role in attracting me here. Berlin is not only one of the most multicultural and international cities in Europe, but is also extremely rich in its history and gastronomy. In simple words, Berlin is undoubtedly the coolest city on this planet. There’s no getting bored in this magical and vibrant city that never sleeps.

My study at HMKW so far has already kindled a desire to pursue research in the future. Additionally, my goal is to provide companies with employees that are satisfied with their work and to reduce the margin between how people could feel about their work and how people do feel. I am confident of making a significant contribution to the fields of business and psychology as a consultant-practitioner and a scientific researcher. Being a part of such an academically enriching and dynamic environment at HMKW Berlin, I am sure my talents will be put to optimal use.
