Daniel Wood (Dan) is a second year student in the Visual Anthropology and Media Students M.A. at the HMKW in Berlin. He graduated in 2019 with a bachelor's degree from Harvard University, magna cum laude with highest honors in anthropology and a secondary in psychology. He has worked in housing and homelessness in Boston, and as a journalist in Yangon, Myanmar.
Dan's research focuses on the anthropologies of journalism, ethno-nationalism, violence, revolution, social media, and exile. His undergraduate thesis, Writing Against the Bengali Crisis, was awarded the Evon Z. Vogt Prize for best thesis in social anthropology in 2019. He recently completed a short film about the 2021 coup in Myanmar, titled The Revolution Must Succeed.
