Prof. Dr. Klaus Kuenen completed his diploma studies in design at the FH Niederrhein in 1993 and received his doctorate at the HS der Bildenden Künste in Saarbrücken in 2014. In addition to extensive teaching experience at the University of Karlsruhe (ZKM), the European University of Applied Sciences or HS Fresenius as well as at Business Management Circle, Messe Frankfurt, Integrata etc., Mr. Kuenen has extensive non-university professional experience in the areas of online marketing, digital media management, consulting and training. He has worked for DuMont, Deutsche Bahn Cargo and in advertising/film production agencies, among others.
He is now moving from Deutsche Post DHL Group, where he has been working since 2015, most recently as 'Senior Expert Digitalised Products'. The focus of his work has been on location based advertising, marketing automation systems and market introduction of new dialogue marketing products as well as development and implementation of lean operations.
Mr. Kuenen has specialized in the areas of strategic & operational online marketing / eCommerce, disruptive innovations, customer journey, UX design, design thinking as well as soft skills such as presence training or voice training. This of course makes him ideally suited for teaching in the new study courses B.A. E-Commerce and Digital Marketing and M.A. International Marketing and Media Management.
