Welcoming new students at enrolment ceremonies in Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt/Main

In a series of five enrolment ceremonies for the winter semester 2022/23, the university management welcomed the prospective new students at the Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt/Main campuses and gave an outlook on the new semester.

After a short presentation of the university by Rector Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Schulz and Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ronald Freytag, and of the teaching staff by the department heads, the students received their matriculation certificates. It was also very pleasing to see the awarding of the German scholarships to four particularly high-achieving HMKW students - this year two Bachelor's and two Master's students. We warmly congratulate this year's scholarship holders Chelsea Gröper (B.A. Game Design and Interactive Media), Max Beckmann (B.A. Journalism and Corporate Communications), Louisa Müller (M.A. Public Relations and Digital Marketing) and Sharmini Sivanathan (M.A. Digital Journalism).

Especially in the Master's programs, many international students are starting their studies at HMKW this year. Some students from India, Brazil, France, Denmark and many other countries from all over the world were live on site or - if they were unable to attend the ceremony in person - joined online.

As every semester, the AStA (Students' Union) of each location took the opportunity to introduce itself to the new fellow students and invite them to participate actively as part of the important interface between the students and the university. There will also be an ideal opportunity to get to know other students at the end of the week, when the "Ersti-Woche" takes place.

We wish all students a good start to their studies, much success and inspiring encounters with teachers and fellow students. We look forward to the coming semester with much anticipation. Welcome to HMKW!
