In the winter semester 2021/22, students of the B.A. Graphic Design and Visual Communication had the task of developing a concept for a self-help app in Prof. Rasmus Giesel's course "Interactive Media". After an extensive research phase, in which they created personas, user journeys and prototypes, among other things, they started designing. The final product was a set of click dummies in which users can test the core functions.
From studying design to starting a fashion label: HMKW alumna Nida Temaj has taken a bold step into the future. Together with a friend, she founded FRANK BERLIN - a fashion brand that focuses on mental health issues. We talked with Nida about this exciting project and the highlights of her studies.
As part of a collaboration with ALBA BERLIN, students of the B.A. Graphic Design and Visual Communication developed over 50 design and marketing ideas. The project was focused on the question of which formats and articles could be used to address a young target group and how the club's diverse social activities could be promoted.
Hands on! In the winter semester 2021/22, master students of Prof. Jenny Bergström's Design Thinking course developed innovative concepts with a focus on health in a practical project with Futurice, an international innovation and service design company with Finnish roots. Whether it was a fitness app, a children's book or a communicative card game, all students approached the task with curiosity, an open mind and a lot of energy.
On Saturday, numerous HMKW Berlin graduates were given a ceremonial farewell by the university management, department heads and lecturers during a virtual graduation ceremony.

How can the diversity of the city of Berlin be reflected through typography? During a semester project, HMKW students designed and animated the Letter B E R L I N according to different approaches and concepts. On October 13, the final animations were presented exclusively on all 12 beamer projections and the digital displays in the Friedrichstraße subway station.
