Graduate Daniel Schreck receives a bronze medal at the ADC Talent Award 2021

Daniel Schreck (B.A. Graphic Design and Visual Communication) wrote his bachelor thesis on the redesign process of city brands and developed a rebranding concept for the city of Leipzig - and has now been awarded bronze at the well-known ADC Talent Award. He told us in a short interview how the nomination and award came about and what advice he would give to other students from the Department of Design.

Let's talk about Visual Communication! Online-Conference DE SIGN RE SEARCH

Last Friday, the online conference DE SIGN RE SEARCH has been all about current topics and trends in visual communication. Bachelor and master students of HMKW Berlin presented their self-selected research topics in short presentations and discussed, among other things, with multimodality expert Jana Pflaeging from the University of Salzburg about design that not only conveys a clear aesthetic, but also carries a message.

Prof. Rasmus Giesel is a jury member of the IGP federal support program

The IGP (Innovation Program for Business Models and Pioneer Solutions) is a support program of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy and focuses, among other topics, on the promotion of cultural and creative innovations. Professor Rasmus Giesel, Professor of Branding at HMKW Berlin, is one of the members of the expert jury and is currently working on the project ideas that were convincing in the competition.

Hybrid enrolment ceremony: HMKW welcomes new students

The start of a new, initially hybrid semester: The matriculation ceremony for the winter semester 2020/21 took place recently at the three branches Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt (Main) on site and online via livestream. The university management welcomed the prospective new students and gave a preview of the new semester, most of which will probably take place online.
