Melody Howse is an Interdisciplinary Researcher, writer, filmmaker and visual artist from Belize & UK. She received her Master’s degree in Visual and Media Anthropology at the Freie Universität in Berlin in 2016. And is currently completing a PhD in Anthropology at the University Leipzig. Where her doctoral thesis focuses on racial encounters and the body, using visual and sonic methods and analysis. Prior to pursuing a PhD in Anthropology, Melody worked as a director, producer and archive specialist for broadcast documentary series and cinema documentaries. Alongside her academic work she operates as a community researcher lending her skills to Black led organisations in Berlin to aid with, research, writing and video production.
