Getting to know innovative companies from the media, technology and advertisement industry was one of the main aims of the 2-day-trip together with Prof. Dr. Ingo Knuth from the department of Management and Business Studies. In this way the students got the opportunity to gain insights into the greatest challenges of the media market. Additionally, they were able to experience different working environments at first hand.
On the first day the students visited the company and social networking site Xing. Here the students learned more about the subject Employer Branding. Further, they found out details about the business model of the innovative web platform.
Later the students moved on to the world-famous technology corporation Google. In the course of an event that was connected to Google Zukunftswerkstatt the future of moving-imagery and new ways of advertisement were presented and discussed. The Google market research team gave interesting insights into different research approaches and results. In the end of the meeting our students were invited to a guided tour through the Google office.
The next day led our students to the Hamburg Hafencity. Here they were welcomed by the team of the Initiative Media that told them interesting facts about the work of a media agency as well as introduced them to issues like market research, data science and new advertising opportunities such as Dynamic Creatives.
Facebook was the final stop of this year’s field trip to Hamburg. Here, our students were able to take a look behind the scenes of the renowned social media platform, got to know details about its products and the everyday working life in the office of the online giant.
