Business anthropology field trip to Berlin

Cologne Master's students of business psychology visited the German capital Berlin for two days with their professor Dr. Eva Eick. At the HMKW campus in Berlin and at FUTURIUM, they gained insight into applied projects and futurology.

Business anthropology is concerned with gaining knowledge to understand economic activity, which is intended to support the development of new products and services that are in demand, as well as relevant marketing and business activities. In the module of the same name within the M.Sc. Business Psychology program at HMKW, the scientific background and history of this research field are covered accordingly, as well as the quality criteria and project structure, the field research process, methods, and case studies.
Shortly before Christmas, Prof. Dr. Eva Eick took her Cologne Master's course on an excursion to Berlin to deepen the module scientifically, socially and culturally:
First, the Cologne students were able to recover from their journey in the cafeteria of the Berlin HMKW location. At 2 p.m., they were welcomed by an expert in economic anthropology: Kiril Ivanov is an HMKW assistant to Prof. Dr. Henning Breuer at the Berlin Psychology Department and is also doing his doctorate at Leuphana University Lüneburg. He gave an insight into exciting applied projects in the field of economic anthropology and answered critical questions from the students, for example about the separability of the module with other modules such as qualitative methodology. Thanks at this point to Kiril Ivanov.
In the evening, the "social" part took place at the bar "Süß war gestern" in Berlin Friedrichshain. With good music and delicious cocktails, students and professor let the first half of the excursion come to a festive end.
The next day, the Futurium was on the agenda. In this "house of futures" everything revolves around the question: How do we want to live? In the exhibition, visitors can discover many possible versions of our future, discuss them together in the forum and try out their own ideas in the Futurium Lab. A very recommendable destination, and also the relation to the module was given, because the students themselves have to do a trend research as an examination performance. We already wish the excursion participants good luck for this!
